February Lawn and Garden Tip Sheet
-Depending on weather fertilize with 15-5-10 Lawn Special on Feb. 15th.

-Lawn aeration and soil amendments can be done by the end of the month.

-Time to plant Tomatoes and Peppers.  Make sure protect from frosts, though.

-Use Southwest Premium Compost on the lawn (2-4 bags per 1,000 sq ft) to help
prepare the grass for any potential drought return.

-With the welcome rain, keep an eye out for brown patch as we start to warm up.

-Gold Finches are in town, we have lots of Nyger Thistle, their favorite food!

-Valentine's Day is the time to do heavy pruning and fertilizing on all your roses.

-Prune Crepe Myrtles as they bud out, and citrus trees before they bud.
